The king pointed to a door at the end of the hall. “You two go ahead, I will announce your arrival to the people.”
Melody led Marshall to the dopr and sqieezed his hand. “Ready?”
"As ready as I ever be…" He sighed nervously. He paused for a moment, and took a deep breath before opening the door. Inside, there was about thirty-ish people awaiting their presence. They must have gasped when they saw that Melody was marrying a Vampire, of all people…
Marshall waved to the crowd shyly…
Melody opened her mouth to speak, but nothing would come out. She had been preparing herself for this day ever since she was a child. Though, then it was thought she would be marrying that horrid Gumwad. She shuddered at the thought.
Melody looked at Marshall and sae he was just a nervous as she was. It was incredible how lucky she was to have him. Wasn’t it every princesses dream to escape her castle amd find true love? She had been lucky enough to acheive the royal dream.
With that final thought, Melody smiled and pulled on the rope that signaled the bell players to perform her mothers favorite song. When the song finished, the crpud all spoke in unison. “Queen Alana, in our hearts forever she rests.”
All attention was sprung to Melody and Marshall. With one last blast of courage, Melody spoke. “Greetings, My dear citizens. We have called you all here to announce my engagment to Marshall Lee Abadeer, the Vampire King as well as the air to the Nightosphere.”
A collective gasp echoed through the crowd. “Although I was previously engaged to a noble of from the candy kingdom, the plabs have changed as I have met and fallen in love with Marshall.” Melody looked to Marshall and smilled taking both his hands in hers and squeezing.
For once in his thousand year old life, Marshall was unsure what to say. He had been performing in front of crowds for years, even in a crowd as large as over a thousand, yet here he was, marrying the woman of his dreams and at a loss of words for a crowd of merely thirty… He decided to treat this as if it were just like a concert. A formal concert. “Hello…” He waved. “My name is Marshall, but I’m sure you already know that… As my fiancée pointed out…” He wasn’t helping himself at all. He felt the cold, judgmental eyes of everyone staring right at him. They must not like the thought of a vampire ruling the kingdom.
